As much as I hate having my first post be a plea for help instead of giving some advice, I pretty have no choice as of now. This so called "Backtera virus" according to those nasty pop-ups (which is most likely just a scam because the information they give seems pretty exaggerated, despite the "effects" of this "virus" being true for me >__>) really messed up a few programs I use frequently. The pop-ups and text bubbles coming out of my taskbar from a very annoying flashing yellow caution icon are also getting on my nerves. So, here is my HijackThis log:

Other notes:

I've done two scans of my computer with Kaspersky (free trial), but it doesn't pick up enough. For two days I was "clean" after I tried to temporarily supress the pop-ups by boosting IE's security, but now everything is flooding my computer again, except this time it's even worse because it corrupted a few frequently used .exe files.

I removed a few things I gathered from my HijackThis log. They were all except one of them O15's and O16's (the other was an .exe file I recognized from a Kaspersky scan. It was located in my temp files or somewhere else in documents and settings and my computer is running fine without it).

Any help appreciated :)
