i got a virus (maybe more) and wanted to post my hijack this logfile to make sure everything is gone.

problems i had: popups for a spyware remover, i dont remember the name, but it was ssk3 or something like that. when i ran adaware, it came up with 300 things, and i scanned less than a week ago. spybot s&d came up with a few problems that it couldn't fix even when it scans on system start. i think one of them was zenos and ssk.

Im actually pretty sure i still have something because my taskmgr says its being used by another program and so is regedit. i have to go into hijack this and kill the taskmgr process before either of them work.

i read the tutorial for some common things that can be fixed in HJT and a file that had (no name) and (no file) wouldnt get fixed. it would still be there when i scanned again. also HJT was the only window open and i still got C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe to come up in the scan. and i fixed R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = = already and it came back.

i think there were a few other things that happened but i dont remember. since i dont remember some of the problems i was hoping i could just post my hjt logfile and get things fixed right away.

— those symptoms fit a stubborn, persistent infection that has modified browser settings and startup behavior and is preventing normal Windows utilities from running. The immediate priorities are (1) stop further damage and spread, (2) preserve your personal files safely, and (3) decide whether a full reinstall is the safest option.

Recommended triage (in order):

  • Disconnect the PC from the network and any shared drives right away.
  • Boot to Safe Mode (no networking) and run up-to-date on-demand scanners plus an anti-rootkit scan. If the infection resists removal in Windows, use a trusted bootable rescue environment to scan offline.
  • Use a trusted autorun/process inspector from a clean source to identify persistent startup items and currently running suspicious processes. For any unknown executable, check its digital signature and submit it to a multi-engine scanner from a different, clean machine before deleting.
  • Back up only personal data (documents, photos, mail exports, bookmarks). Do not back up programs, installers, or unknown executables. After backing up, verify those files on a known-clean computer before restoring them.

If built-in tools remain blocked or startup items recur after removal attempts, a full OS reinstall is the most reliable way to guarantee the system is clean. Before reconnecting the cleaned or rebuilt machine: apply all security updates, install a reputable real-time antivirus, and change all account passwords from a separate, uninfected device.

Notes and cautions: ignore popup “remover” programs and paid-scareware offers; they often make things worse. Avoid manual deletions unless you are certain which files and registry entries are malicious. If you want targeted troubleshooting help, post a sanitized description of persistent symptoms and a clean copy of diagnostic output (remove personal paths) so responders can point to specific fixes.

More problems: now my homepage hotmail.com doesn't work, not even when i type it in, it says service unavailable. and whenever i search on google it brings up a yahoo search panel on the left.

Whenever i go to a different site it says there was an error, cant find NDrA9 or something like that.

when i shut down my computer it says tfthot.exe DLL Initialization failed.

since nobody has replied, heres my HJT logfile.
