How many processes are too many? I have 30 running but only Firefox is open. I am also the only one logged on. I am usually really good about keeping things clean, but I got to wondering about this. I just did a complete re-install on another computer the other day and noticed he had 2 processes running. 2. Any suggestions? Do I need to run HJT so a better idea of what's going on can be attained? (I have no idea how to read a HJT log, btw). Thanks for your help~

Having 30 running processes listed in Task Manager is actually on the low side for a home/small office computer; 30-45 processes is a good average range for such a system. Antivirus/Antispyware programs, Internet-related applications, and video/printer/peripheral drivers are a few things which usually contribute to your running process group.
