I've read several threads relating to the bridge.dll problem and apologize for adding one more example. I've run McAfee, stinger and adaware (all updated) on my computer and haven't been able to remove them. The closest I've come is disabling them with msconfig (reenabled for HJT). I have no idea what p2esocks_1012.dll (maybe a dialer looking at the log) is but like bridge.dll it generates a RUNDLL error on startup. I have compared my HJT logs to some that have been posted and fixed but I didn't notice any exact matches to their results and don't want to play around. As to the other spyware I'm pretty sure that all but the registry keys remain and they don't reinstall any files.

Here's my log:

Sorry again for introducing yet another instance of bridge.dll although that’s not my only problem. Until I get a reply I'm going to disable those startup issues through msconfig.

Thank you for taking time to read this.

Quick summary: had RunDLL startup errors that disappeared after removed the offending registry autoruns, which is exactly the common pattern — antivirus or manual removal can delete the file but leave its startup entry, and Windows then shows a RunDLL error because it still tries to load a missing DLL. Confirming and removing the leftover autorun entries is the right next step. (winhelponline.com)

Immediate, safe follow-up (order matters):

  1. Create a system restore point and export the registry keys you plan to change (use regedit File → Export) so you can roll back if needed. (support.microsoft.com)
  2. Use Autoruns (run as Administrator) to view every logon/startup location (Run keys, Startup folder, scheduled tasks, services, BHO/IE add-ons). Uncheck to disable suspicious entries first — delete only after you’re sure. Autoruns will also let you jump to the registry or file location. (danlong360.com)
  3. If an entry refuses to be removed because the file is in use, identify the process with Process Explorer and close the handle (don’t kill system-critical processes). After disabling entries, reboot and confirm the RunDLL dialog no longer appears. (learn.microsoft.com)

Follow-up scanning and recovery:

  • Run up-to-date on-demand scanners as a second opinion (Malwarebytes Toolset/AdwCleaner plus an online scanner such as ESET Online Scanner) to find leftovers or PUPs. If detections appear, quarantine and re-check Autoruns. (help.malwarebytes.com)
  • For stubborn or suspected rootkits, boot a rescue ISO and scan offline (for example, Kaspersky Rescue Disk) before making more invasive changes or rebuilding the system. If the infection is deep and you lack confidence, back up personal data and consider a clean reinstall. (forum.kaspersky.com)

Cautions: always back up registry/important data, avoid deleting entries you don’t recognise without checking (some DLLs are legitimate), and keep anti‑malware and Windows updated to reduce re-infection risk.

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

Now reboot into safe mode and delete the following files and folders if found .

C:\Program Files\Orbit\ ...delete folder

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ fzvaeqkg.exe ..delete file

Global Startup: Search.vbs...delete file

to delete the above files and folder you will need to do the following
go to

How to start computer in safe mode

reboot computer and post a new log

Thanx, the evil registry keys are gone and nothing bad happens on startup.
