Actually really you have shown us no proof that they dont take it literally you simply showed us proof that the catholics have the numbers.
You or any other scientists have also not shown us any evidence to say the dinosaurs died out 65million years ago infact the only evidence that we have says that they died. Just because there are only fossils that far back does not mean that dinosaurs lived past that. Infact alot of these fossils could have been created during the great flood.

maybe we should just be nice to each other. if people were nicer, things like that wouldn't happen. And the government should start to enforce laws instead of just making them.

Well, obviously most Christians would disagree with all of you. Most people do not think the bible is accurate, the word of god yes, but not accurate. Ok, now that we have established that the majority of the population completely disagrees with you about dinosaurs and man coexisting, we can move on. I seriously doubt ANY of the people in my church of 2,000 people would disagree with me. And that goes with all the other Protestants. Sorry, but Christians believe in the Bible. That is our guide. Of course we are going to believe it is accurate. That would be ridiculous if we didn't! Why do we read it, why do preachers teach from it? That is completely irrelevant.

I guess not, even tho the Bible does say it is true and without error... and it is the Word of God. But I guess as long as they believe in Jesus Christ... then that's all that really matters.
Um.. Peter, Jesus' disciple (Do you know who he is?) was the first POPE! It is documented that the very first christians were catholic. The protestants broke away from the catholic church. Why do you think that all the other denominations are grouped under 'protestant', and why do the catholics have the MOST members than any other religion on the EARTH. The Catholics did not take the bible literally, and they are the dominate christian denomination.

The Catholics were the first Christians. Jesus' apostles were Catholic. All the other religions broke away from the catholic church.. And the Catholics do NOT take the bible literally.. Most protestants don't either. It is still the 'Word of God', but people realize that not everything in there is true. Men wrote the bible, and men are prone to make mistakes. .. And I am pretty sure that baptists and methodists don't take the bible literally either.

No, go look it up.. Most Christians do not take the bible literally. The entire Catholic faith, the first christians and the largest christian membership, does not take the bible literally. Neither does most protestant religions. Most people believe in what the bible is trying to convey, they don't actually believe all the parables and such.
Go look what up? I've been a Christian since I was born, I know the stats. Catholics are much different in views than Protestants. I've been to almost every kind of church you can think of. Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Holiness, Adventist, Assembly of God, Church of God (where I attend now). And ALL of those branches believe the Bible to be the Word of God, and therefore, everything in it is errorless.
Parables were like lasher said, a simple story illustrating a moral or religious lesson. Jesus spoke in parables to teach them. So of course, Christians are going to believe in them. =/

You cannot honestly say that the entire Bible is fact. Most Christians don't even take the bible literally.. There is very little proof to bak-up the Bible.

I didn't say that. I said God appointed Noah to take certain species, we don't know which ones. But I was replying to your post which said he took 2 of every kind. Which he didn't.

Like I said, Noah took certain types of species upon the ark... he only took the ones that God told him to. That doesn't mean that ALL of them died in the flood. I personally think that they just became extinct after several years.
And how do you know that the bible isn't over exaggerating? Or that the cedar tree was small?
