Sounds like a monologue and the other guy was so relieved for it to be over but he had to say something so he said 'something to think about'. I especially like "the major battle in Europe was between two Leftist ideologies: Communism and Fascism." Such a load of crap. But you and I have discussed this before. There is just so much wrong with the whole 'rant' that I will just point to a real discussion on just one piece of that rant.

Depends on the questions -- how'd you do on the other one?

I can't seem to easily save the image so here are the 2 coordinates in the Liberal zone "just below the top centrist line" by "just to the left of the liberal peak". I took the test a couple times cuz I kept losing the image but pretty much stayed in the same place. I use FF - when I set it to view page in IE, I end up in the peak of statist (this scared me and is why I try not to use MSIE)

Man, this is so cool - they were sifting through a large pile of Thorium. You know how it is with kids, shooting Thorium through a mass spec with their slingshots and WTF! they grabbed one that had a weight of 292 with an atomic # of 122. It has a half life of about a hundred million years. They call it eka-thorium or unbibium (can't drink-um?).

"This may well open the flood gates to other similar discoveries. Uranium is the obvious next place to look for superheavy actinides. I’d bet good money that Marinov and his pals are eyeballing the stuff as I write."

Next thing you know kids with slingshots will be shooting from piles of Uranium to find something even bigger.

Of course, this has to be verified by the larger scientific community.

Dave, I have looked at the blogs you post links to. They are not particularly nice either. That is not to say that either are the good guys - I don't buy into the they did it so we can do it too. But the right can't whine about the left after 20 years of Rush Limbaugh and his ilk.

GrimJack 1,414 Posting Maven Featured Poster

Yes. You are apparently one of those who delights in trying to destroy a man for asking a question. Kudos.

No, no, no. McCain mentioned Joe 22 times in the debate so people wanted to know who he was - you know it was not an attempt destroy Joe, it was an attempt to find out who it was that impressed McCain so much. In the process of finding out who Joe was, they found out who Joe was. McCain shot himself in the foot (or higher) with Joe.

yes, a machine that produces Ice cream so cold that it takes months to melt. I wonder, how long it would it take a 4L tub of ice cream at absolute zero to melt in 20 degrees celcius. I guess you would need the coefficient of the ice cream and probably some other info as well.

I spent an hour last night walking through what would be needed to calculate this - it is pretty ugly. Let's consider the ice cream is sitting on a perfectly insulated floor (absorbs no heat), the floor is actually a plane that can be considered infinite (no build up of insulating cold air), and the humidity is zero (so no moisture from air freezes to insulate the ice cream). Sigh, the Oxygen begins to liquefy (90.2K) and pool, then the Nitrogen begins to liquefy (77.36K) and solidify (63.15K) then the Oxygen begins to solidify (54.36K)- well, actually probably only gets to slush because the ice cream has warmed up a bit (I guess, we have to treat the ice cream like a large point source of cold cuz who wants to calculate the heat loss coefficient across the <crap, can we also put the ice cream in a sphere?> radius of ice cream). There is not much convection because the air is really cold and the frozen Nitrogen and slushy Oxygen are insulating the ice cream

(The thermal conductivity of liquid oxygen below 80 K and pressures up to 1 MPa has been measured …

Fortunately, I took my l/t to a coffee shop with me so I was even able to look around on AtlasShrugged w/o blowing a fuse. I like the use of the word "thug" throughout (without reference to thugee - in particular, I kind of wonder if the use of the word 'thug' is purposive <found elsewhere on the web> "The average murder rate per Thug per year thus produced was then multiplied by the estimated total number of members of all the many Thug gangs", fortunately India was the country under discussion no the US).

To be honest I read Ayn Rand in the 60s, everything she wrote except that really, really boring speech that John Gault broadcasts to the world - I kept trying but just could not get through it (I ran into a guy in one of my philosophy classes who taped the speech and played it back whenever he got depressed by world news - this was in 1976). I saw the movie, with that Lenie Reifenstahl ending, but that was the film maker's choice.... I was a true believer until I heard her talk. It was very disillusioning, to say the least.

The Middle Finger…

It's pretty sad when bloggers have to completely clueless in order to make their point. The anchoress has proven herself to be clueless loser because she has no idea of context:

Jonah Goldberg, buried beneath an ancient pyramid of Styrofoam peanuts and assorted chips, emerges from the tomb to confront disturbing footage of liberal fascism in praxis. For those of us who haven't been snoring with our eyes open this stuff is old news--I first saw it on one of the rightwing blogs two weeks ago when I was down in Cape May, which explains why I wasn't among those Upper West Siders flipping the venerable bird at the McCain-Palin supporters as they defiantly marched through Red Square, documenting the audience reaction to their provocative epater of street theater. Of course the entire purpose of their stunt was to be heckled, so the razzing they received represented Mission Accomplished. But I fail to see how the hecking and bird-flipping lay bare the dark viper lurking beneath the liberal pretense of tolerance and free speech (O, the hypocrisy, etc). Nobody was shoved, roughed up, beaten about the head with day-old baguettes; the reaction of the Upper West Siders to the McCain-Palin marchers mirrored that of the red-state audiences who lustily, rowdily booed and walked out when Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young musically petitioned for the impeachment of George Bush* (see CSN&Y/Deja Vu). And it's not as if McCain-Palin supporters are sugar drops of sweet reason, as …

Here's the full transcript and audio from pastor Arnold Conrad's invocation before Sen. McCain's speech in Davenport this morning. This pastor sees the election as a religious war. Either that, or Bill Maher paid him to promote Religulous.

I also would also pray, Lord, that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are millions of people around this world praying to their god--whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah--that his opponent wins, for a variety of reasons. And Lord, I pray that you will guard your own reputation, because they're going to think that their God is bigger than you, if that happens. So I pray that you will step forward and honor your own name with all that happens between now and election day."

Here are some talking about how fake Sarah Palin, when they support the biggest of all fakes.
October surprise.

Ya wingnut watching movies by wingnuts about wingnuts quoting wingnuts. I finally forced myself past the "I am a registered independent" twit making 2 lies including the live birth lie before even having to sit through philip j berg - esq, wingnut go blah blah blah about his oh so logical lawsuit. Aia - you owe me for those lost minutes.

Anyway, as i said that creepy crap has been rebutted:

Wingnuts away! Phillip J. Berg- a crackpot and his lawsuit!

Yesterday brought a new wrinkle to the massive pot o' crazy that is the Cult of the COLB. Namely Phillip J. Berg's federal lawsuit against Sen. Obama and the DNC. (Case number 08-CV-4083)

The whole ball of wax is over at Mr. Berg's site, "Obamacrimes", including PDF files of the lawsuit, press releases, etc. I am not a lawyer, but has near as I can tell, I'd be VERY surprised if this wasn't laughed out of court.

For starters, a lot of it seems lifted from "Judah Benjamin's", "TexasDarlin", and other claims of the cult of the COLB. Among other wingnuttery:

From the Memorandum in support of temporary restraining order, he:

I could not find the Cavuto bit so I will have to settle for Brian Wilson. If you think the seniors could not raise their hands fast enough, you gotta get a new brain. What are you talking 'older seniors', my great grandma lived to 104 and when I went to her 100th birthday party, she got up and hugged me and knew who I was. When she was 90, my great-aunt and some other relatives convinced my GGma to move out her home where she lived by herself and move in with her daughter because her daughter needed help after her heart attack. We grew up in Montana and we don't need some know-nothing young whipper-snapper telling us that our seniors don't know who we want to vote for or are too slow to show our preferences

what do they mean by syllables , can you give me a sample cause my english is not good

Ah, let's take the word syllables - 3 syllables, syll-a-bles
English - 2 syllables, Eng-lish (or En-glish). The problem with learning English is that it accepts words from all languages and even accepts the spelling rules for that language so there is no easy rule for English words.

Faux pas is French for 'social error' - in French if the last letter is a consonant, it is not pronounced so that is pronounced fo pa even though it looks like it should be pronounced Fax pass.

Back to syllables, your program should be able to find vowels, then the surrounding consonants to make a syllable but you will also have to modify it quite a lot for all the exceptions. Good luck.
