You mean by reinstalling Firefox my IE browser will start working?

I installed Firefox a few months ago but have continued to use IE for the most part. Today IE immediately shuts down saying it's encountered an error. It won't allow me to update my AVG or run any online scans using Firefox so I'm not sure what else to check. I ran Ad Aware and Spybot which were both clean. HELP!

Today I noticed that this shutting down seems to always happen when I'm using the scroll wheel on my mouse?! I did just install a new wireless mouse and keyboard around the same time as this started happening?

I was having a problem with my PC where every so often, maybe once or twice a day the PC would essentially shut down. All programs would stop running and the screen would turn whatever colour the window I had been looking at was with multicoloured thin vertical lines going through it. I reboot and everything is fine. One day after doing this a couple of weeks it would not restart at all. I took it in and they replaced the power supply, fan, and CPU. When I brought it home it started doing the same thing again! It still boots up fine. HELP!

I have already done all of those things (except the video card thing because I don't know how) but since I last posted it would seem that it only shuts down when I use Mozilla Firefox. I guess I'll just quit using it.

My computer keeps spontaneously freezing up. The screen goes white or blue with coloured horizontal lines on it. I have to restart and when i do an error message comes up saying that my computer has recovered from a serious error. It does this every few hours.

The only things that have changed on my computer since this started are as follows:
I had some viruses and such that I totally cleaned using the procedures and help of someone in the Viruses and Nasties forum. My HJT log and Ewido log show that my computer is now clean so I don't think it relates to that.
I installed a new wireless mouse and keyboard and forgot to uninstall the old one first. I have now uninstalled the old one.
I installed and have been using Mozilla Firefox but have since quit using it as the pages freeze up after a period of time.

Help?!

OK my computer is working good and no popups but 3x in the last 2 days it has frozen up, screen turned white or blue with lines down it and I had to restart. The last time it happened it restarted itself twice during startup. I'm beginning to think I have more than a virus problem. I did another ewido scan in safe mode and here are the results:

OK I did all those things. There was one folder with one file in it that would not delete from my temp folder. It was file 5238 or something. I'll keep you posted on if this fixes it or not. The desktop spontaneously came back before I did any of these fixes. Here is my HJT log:

Someone please help me. I've been trying to fix my computer for a month now and it just keeps getting worse. First it was riddled with popups and would shut down spontaneously. Now the desktop is gone. Here is what I have done so far:
For every User listed under C:\Documents and Settings, deleted the entire contents of these folders (not the folders themselves):

Local Settings\Temp
Cookies
History
Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Deleted the entire contents of my C:\Windows\Temp folder.

Deleted the entire contents of my C:\Temp folder.

Did a search for *.tmp and deleted all entries found.

I have AVG and Kaspersky and have ran them fixing problems numerous times. I also have run the following things and fixed things with:
Spybot
Ad-Aware
Spyblaster
Ran these online scans:
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus.html
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp?cid=9914
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php

Downloaded, installed, updated, and ran these tools:

CWShredder -- http://www.intermute.com/spysubtrac...r_download.html
about:Buster -- http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4289.html
HSRemove -- http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4286.html
PurityScan uninstaller -- http://www.purityscan.com/uninstall.html

Downloaded Ewido Security Suite -- http://fileforum.betanews.com/detai...te/1098736486/1
Installed it, and while installing, under Additional Options, unchecked Install background guard and Install scan via context menu.
Rebooted into Safe Mode
Ran a full system scan with Ewido
Emptied my Recycle Bin and rebooted normally.

Finally I ran Hijack This and here is the …
