"nsswitch.conf - System Databases and Name Service Switch configuration file" Nothing in /etc/nsswitch.conf "executes", perhaps you have another example?

The audio is usually first victim of "modern content delivery" mechanisms. Netflix content via my Roku device exhibits this behavior. Some audio content/scenes/sound_whatever on cable-HD are all over the map. I remember Rabbit-Ears!

rm -f !(filename.ext) or rm !(*.tex|*.pdf) deletes all except the tex and pdf files are just 2 examples.

Looks like it would be the name of the host you are sending the email **through**...which may or may not require authentication. Here's the clue I found at http://www.xtremedotnettalk.com/showthread.php?t=84555 SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "smtp.oceanfree.net" HTH
