ok bare with me here, not sure if this is the correct forum section but I will give it a go. First some background. Some time ago I signed up for Microsoft Office live business website...it was free and all that good stuff so i went with it. I ignored the site for a year or two and now I am tackling designing it. I want to use dreamweaver to design it.. and I know enough of the basics that I feel more comfortable wtih dreamweaver. However I do not know how to make a form that will allow customers to enter their information and then have it stored in a database of some sort ( i was originally thinking access) anyways... so microsoft live has a form designer that does essentially this for me, and then I can download the results to access or a program of my choice. The tool they use for this is their Business contact manager. Well thats great but here is the dilemna:
If I am using Microsoft website Designer tool I then get full access to the forms and can create all of the colums I want and so on and if i jump on through the website and enter data into it is stored correctly. However I want to use dreamweaver to create my pages because the template for the background of each microsoft live page is stupid. However when if I turn off Microsoft website designer tool so dreamweaver can access the folder and then i try creating a form on the microsoft business contact manager side.. i can see it int he folder.. I can access it and edit the columns and names and so forth but when i access the page through the website it errors out when i hit submit. So either i need to figure out how to fix this or how to access my web site folder while in microsoft designer tool mode so that I can still upload my own html pages and then link them to the form generated by the contact manager. Hopefully that makes sense. LEt me know if you need clarifcation. Thanks.
