Test if you have entered the correct credentials.
Goto the phpmyadmin folder and open this file: config.inc.php
Look for this variables:
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = 'admin';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['extension'] = 'mysqli';
