In MSVC 6.0 (and probably similar stuff in newer versions), choose new/projects/MFC AppWizzard(exe)

With the single and multi-document options you get a page saying "what database support would you like to include?" There's a "Data Source" button, and from there you can pick MS Access.

That gives you the framework to start accessing what you want.
