You can use and assemble with MASM611 very easily in Notepad++. Ihave find a very nice customization of Notepad++ on a blog.

I prefer just to use notepad to open .asm files to edit and assemble them from there.

Is it not annoying to write commands on msdos again and again to assemble and run your code?
easyMASM is also a notepad type thing but it's better than notepad in many ways. You will have to use it once to say any thing about it.
