Well, there are a ton of Java tutorials out there online and which one you will find most helpful depends on your programming background and the authors of course. As a starting point, I would recommend the Sun Java tutorials at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/.
If you need more then a web search on "Java tutorial" will yield more links then you will probably ever want to read.
If you run into specific questions about material you read but do not understand, feel free to post here for additional clarification.
