how to browse a file without showing input type as file on frontpage

i want to give an option like 'Import' where on clicking on this word , a window should open from where i can choose file and and then can use that file on my page.

i can do this by giving an input text box with type file but i don't want to display that input box and browse option on front page.
so how is it possible?
