Add Xdays to Specific Date - Php

Good Afternoon,

I have been struggling with a minor issue for the past several hours, I need help.

ok I know I can use

date('Y-m-d', strtotime($date . '+4 day'));

for specific days but I need to be able to x amount of days adding to a specific date.

Any help would be great...

How about mktime()?
