I want to create an application to send an sms message to multiple clients. can somebody help how to go about it or send a php code that can do so.

Jump to PostIts hard to do it but you have some money I think that could help you. Since its all about SMS Gateway, I'm pretty sure the gateway will cost you a lot.
Alternatively you can try Gmail API for sending SMS but I know it's limited down to 50.

i have the required gateway-kannel. i wanted to know how i can send sms via http directly to a mobile phone. i fear using a modem cos it will be very costly.
