I am adminitering a (Joomla) site set up by someone else.

The site uses a proprietry system (paid for) whereby advertisers on a classifieds page can be emailed with queries about the product being advertised.

I need to keep track of these emails for the purposes of following up, but as far as I can see there is no way of keeping the information on the form.

The site uses SMTP and (presumably) sendmail.

I'm wondering if I can set it to use PHP mail and then write something to process the information from the form, like adding it to a database.

Thoughts?

From a programmatic stand point, yes it is possible. But if someone isn't familiar with the Joomla plugin that you're using it would be next to impossible to tell you exactly how to do it.

I might recommend querying the company that the plugin was purchased from first before attempting to customize it.
