Is there a way to use PHP function similar_text with MySQL databases? How should I connect the database with similar_text resulting 5 similar words or less?

Similar characters is what similar_text gives you (no. characters matched or the %similarity in the thris parameter). How do you envisage the 'word' similarity working.
