According to the fourth Worldwide Infrastructure Security Report from Arbor Networks, published today, malicious attacks on networks are continuing to rise at an alarming rate. Hi I meet a problem I bought a **WD HDD** (WD2500AAKX) with **SATA3** connection but my **motherboard chipset** only supports **SATA1**. The question is: how to set **jumpers** and to slow down speed at 1.5 Gbps? On the HDD is saying that Jumper on Pin 5-6 slow down to 3 Gbps. When i connect the HDD, the BIOS doesn't see it. Warning - DO NOT BUY DELL IF YOU NEED TECH SUPPORT Let me start by saying that until today I was a loyal Dell customer. My first personal laptop was a Dell Inspiron 1720. My father-in-law had a Dell desktop and my two sons have three Dell laptops between them. On December 23 I received my latest Dell, an Inspiron 5748. I first noticed that is was…

Here's a weird behavior. My PC freezes if I re-enable the LAN. No BSOD, no logs in event viewer, nothing on the hijackthis log... I've noticed that LAN (along with the modem connection) tray icon disappeared moment my anti-virus started updating itself. I'm updating it regularly and it never behaved this way. I suspect that it has something to do …

High performance computing has long been a part of Intel’s dossier. But a deal announced on Monday with supercomputer maker Cray Inc. could paint Xeon in neon on Intel’s resume. The multi-year pact puts Intel’s dual-core Xeon processors—found in most of the world’s most powerful HPCs—in Cray’s next-generation system, called Cascade. Scheduled …

I just got my new laptop (after toasting my 2008 model with a glass of water on the keyboard). It's a Dell Inspiron 5748. I was excited to see it came with a USB 3.0 port (plus two USB 2.0 ports). Even I found these explanations a little confusing, and some of the information isn't quite right, so I'll make it simple: KBPS (MBPS,GBPS)= kiloybits (megabits, gigabits) per second, this is used to measure bandwidth in connection speeds in internet connections, network speed, or transfer speed of local storage. KB/s (MB/s, GB/s)= Kilobytes/…
