Hello all, I am having what seems to be a very common issue with Vista. I have searched the internet and have found many topics on this problem, but none of the suggestions I have read have worked for me. The problem is, this particular computer will not connect to the wireless signal coming from the wireless router. If I plug it into the router, it works fine. Other computers in the house work fine with the wireless. Those computers are running Windows 7 and Windows XP. As I said before, I have tried many of the methods suggested to …

Hi, I have a site that looks fine locally, but when I view it online, it gets messed up. Specifically, it does not resize correctly (eg at 800x600). In a turnabout, this only occurs in Firefox (3.6.16) - in IE 8 it resizes ok. To further confuse the matter, if I put the files on a different server, it looks fine! Here is the site in question on Server 1: http://www.lincolnavenuewillowglen.com/nonprofits.html Resizing doesn't work here. Also note that image at top-left does not resize correctly either. Here is the site on Server 2 (identical html and css): http://www.rudeshoes.com/nonprofits.html This should …

i tried to setup a wifi network using my samsung wave S8500 phone through the mobile AP setting. however when i tried to connect it to my windows vista laptop it showed that the access was 'local only'. On further investigation I realized that the IPv4 connection was local and IPv6 was limited. I set the options to obtain IPv4 automatically and did the same for DNS and IPv6 but to no avail and when i try to disable the WPA protection it says that the action is not supported by the network. I tried rebooting the connection, phone and …

Why do local inner classes not allow static variables ? The static fields of the classes could at least have been allowed access from the local method ?

Hello, I am having trouble with my laptop connecting to the wireless internet at home. Recently, a new internet router was installed and since then, I've been having trouble connecting to the internet wirelessly (not just at home). It connects to the network, but then says that I only have "Local" access. However, if I connect my laptop to the router using the ethernet cable that was provided, my internet works perfectly fine! The strange thing is, my 2 housemates who use Windows XP and Windows 7 can both connect to the internet wirelessly perfectly fine! My iPhone can also …

Hi, One of my portfolios for a university canoe club committee is to run the website in 2010/2011 season. I would like to improve the photo gallery substantially, and am looking for a ready-made, preferably freeware solution with the following features. - Display photo's from a directory on the server, splitting into different galleries by the folder name, or other means. The photo's must NOT come from Facebook / Flickr etc. The site is hosted on a local server at the Uni, so we want the members to be able to access these pictures fast (over LAN). - I would …

Here is my Prob- we have a main router from which we use a distributor or hub for internet connection distribution, ever computer connected automatically obtains IP address of format say - 180.50.50.xxx to access net connection. if any connected computer has different IP format than the given one, it cannot access internet. suppose my IPaddress is - 180.50.50.100 so all the IPs connected to my local network are of type- 180.50.50.xxx if I want to view all connected IP address of computer that have internet connection
imports Net.Dns Dim IP as string IP=GetHostByName(GetHostName).ToString.SubString(GetHostByName(GetHostName).LastIndexOf(".")+1) 'This gets my IP address …

Hey all! Since I am getting a little agitated with not being able to find a solution, I will try and keep this short. I'm looking for a way to check if the remote user is a local admin or not through WMI (or any realistic alternative without having to start a program that is on their computer). It is needed just as a peeking function (it will be used in an internal program I am writing that will simplify and automate our user management) Thank you very much in advance for any leads and/or information you could provide! Alex

I'm in the middle of developing a website and i always track uses to my site even in development, and i looked through the tracking and i notice under 'PageVisited' (Which is the page the user goes to on my site) and it said on one record 'http://www.baidu.com/' which is Chinese... and not in any way, shape or form related to my site. Obviously my site is available on my external IP for users to test but i'm just so confused as to why it said someone visited a Chinese site, on my UK site... Also, no referral link was …

I cannot bring up one (only one) domain on my local computer. This domain is owned and hosted by my (through resellers). Things I have done: Cleared the cache of Firefox & IE Flushed the dns from cmd prompt ipconfig /flushdns refreshed NetBIOS names nbtstat -RR Purged NBT Remote Cache nbtstat -R Also ran this command that was suggested in a forum I found, from a previous post. arp -d It is not a nameserver issue: The company the domain is with has confirmed that the nameservers are correct. I have waited 5 days for propagation of the domain. It …

A most basic TCT connection is established with the code below:
// Initialization IPEndPoint m_IpEndPoint = new IPEndPoint(IPAddress.Parse("127.0.0.71"), 5000); Socket m_Socket = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); NetworkStream m_Stream = new NetworkStream(m_Socket); // Read/write operations m_Stream.Write(System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("Hello world!"), 0, 12); byte[] read_buffer = new byte[4096]; m_Stream.Read(read_buffer, 0, 4096); // Closing open resources m_Stream.Close(); m_Socket.Shutdown(SocketShutdown.Both); m_Socket.Close();
When communicating through TCP we specify both local and foregn sockets, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, this is my first network program. I want to ask these question: What does "127.0.0.71:5000" specify in my code? Is it local or foreign socket address? If it is local, …

If I uncomment the 'int x;' above main, and comment out the int x = 0 inside of main, it works, but I don't want to use global variables. What I can't understand is why x is out of scope. The text I'm using says “vars having local or block scope may be used only in the part of the program between their definition and the block’s closing brace” - so if I declare x at the start of the main function, it seems like its scope should last until the end of the whole program, and x should be …
