Make sure 2nd HD is slave and your using the right connector .XP did everything for me .I wish you all the luck. To boot from the CD you need to tell your computer to look there before trying to boot from the hard drive. It varies between manufacturers, but generally you go into the BIOS Setup menu by hitting F1, F11, Del or something when the PC first powers on. In there should be a menu to change the boot order.
