Hi I watch a few movies the past weekend, just to relaxed and not think about work. I saw a few movies. I saw: **The Raid Redemption** - The best action movie this year! It's a **Indonesian** action film. The director is **Welsh** but he speaks **Indonesian** and **English** and **Welsh**. Not quite sure how he manage to speak in 3 langauges but he do. The **English** subtitle fits right with the storyline in **Indonesian**. My friend(speak & understand **Indonesian**) told me that it fits the storyline so I don't speak Indonesian but the English subtitle really help me understand …

These days, video game consoles aren't just for video games anymore. There's a CD, DVD and Blu-Ray player, internet, Twitter, Facebook, chat and more. But don't you wish you could watch MOVIES? Oh, wait, you can. Think the way you watch movies on your console is good enough? One company challenges consumers to think again. FlicStick Corp announced today that they will be releasing their patent pending "FlicStick Movie System." For me, that name means slapping obnoxious people with a ruler when they talk during my movie. For you, that could mean a new way to watch your favorite flicks. …

What might kill illegal downloading do you think? The long (and mostly ineffective) arm of the law perhaps, or maybe a sudden (and unlikely) feeling of overwhelming love for the poor music and movie industry? According to the Global Web Index the answer could be simple and obvious: why bother downloading something illegally when you can watch it or listen to it perfectly legally using streaming media services? YouTube has certainly showed a thirst for streaming videos, free of charge to the end user. The Global Web Index research reveals that 64% of Internet users watch video clips this way. …

I'm not a great fan of the phrase 'total coincidence' and nor am I a fan of The Rt Hon Lord Mandelson, First Secretary of State, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills and Lord President of the Council to be formal. While I'm on the small matter of things I don't like, I'm not exactly standing cheering on the sidelines when a recording or movie industry executive bemoans modern technology for stripping them of some of their profit from the sale of music or film. So you can probably guess I was none too pleased to learn that …

The Pirate Bay is, without doubt, a huge thorn in the side of the music and movies business. As the worlds largest bittorrent tracker with more than 3 million users and well over 20 million peers it constantly flips the bird at The Powers That Be. Even the threat of legal action does little to dampen the spirits of the owners who state that as no copyrighted material is stored by them is it "not possible" to hold them responsible for material being spread using the tracker. "Any complaints from copyright and/or lobby organizations will be ridiculed and published at …

Howdy and welcome to Crystal Ball Sunday #12: Built-In Home Entertainment and Automation . Linux is the perfect medium for set top boxes (aka Set Top Units or Personal Video Recorders (PVR)) because of its customizability, optimization features, and no cost status. Whether you know them as Set Top Boxes, Set Top Units, or PVRs; you may know these generic names better by the brand name: TiVo. These Linux-based PVRs are not TiVo but they do what TiVo does and much more. With a PVR, you can watch, record, pause, and rewind live TV, watch movies, create your own home …

According to some online blogs, TiVo is employing a new scheme of digital rights management (DRM) which allows program sponsors (the people who provide the show, such as the network, or perhaps the syndication agency) to define when a show may be watched, and if it may be stored for later re-runs. TiVo quietly upgraded their "EULA" or End User's License Agreement" inside of an OS update that allows program suppliers to restrict how long the DVR may save recordings, or prevent the device from recording them alltogether. Of course, this was a quiet modification... I am certain that they …
