Hello, If you don’t mind I want to ask you some questions regarding ecommerce platforms. Our team is developing now a new webstore solution (startup) that should be launched in August and I am strongly interested in your opinion, guys. 1. If you are already using any of eCommerce platforms, what advantages and benefits can make you transfer to another one? 2. Are you satisfied with support, if it is provided? 3. What were the main difficulties you come across while building your webstore? Your opinion really matters and will help me greatly.

Just a little heads up regarding facebook's new feature "pages to watch". It was launched quite recent so many of you might not have seen it on their pages on facebook. However, it is a feature that allows you to add pages of your competitors and track their "page likes" performance. But there's a very disturbing thing. When you add another page to "watch", the page's administrator will get o notification that you are tracking him. It is quite inconvenient when you build your strategy on your competitors performans and facebook alerts them. I just thought you might want to …

Hello Fan's, I (re)started a rather old Project of mine about a Year ago, but shortly before it's Version1.0, the Fellow ordered to implement a powerful indexing-system, dropped out and left me with a partly unfinished piece of work. For more than a decade, I have been designing several editions of Software, all based on the legendary EveryAuction Perl Source and it's many great Add-On's, I have created several Multi-Section Platforms like Classifieds, Wanded Ad's, Personals, Auctions, and so on, finally, I decided to put all this knowledge into one brandnew designed GPL-Project, looking about like: http://www.everyauction.info/cgi-bin/253/index.pl The Site shown …

As most of you probably know by now, AdBrite shut down this last Friday. As I know that many of you are Webmasters and bloggers, I was wondering what alternative you were thinking of using now. For a long time, AdBrite was considered AdSense's biggest competitor; this is all going to change now. It will be very interesting to see what ad platform takes the spotlight. Any thoughts? Thanks:)

I'm a PHP newbie, and I need to replace my current code for linking to a stylesheet (which looks like `<link rel="stylesheet" href="/style.css" type="text/css"> `) by a PHP alternative. If it's important, the code I'm using which will link to it is [php-mobile detect](http://code.google.com/p/php-mobile-detect/). The structure I wanted to use was <?php include("Mobile_Detect.php"); $detect = new Mobile_Detect(); if($detect->isiOS()){ // code to run for the Apple iOS platform. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" />; } ?> which should work, except, 1. Dreamweaver gives me a syntax error alert at the second line, and 2. I get a browser error citing an unexpected …

Hello I'm trying to create a cross platform application to control a robot. Everything went relatively easy but I got stuck when trying to set a few properties that are Mac specific. They use the 'com.apple.eawt' package which obviously isn't available on Linux or Windows. I need to set the program to use the system menu bar and the dock icon and some handlers. I know how to do this but I don't know how to tell Linux to skip the part that is Mac specific. I can check the operating system at runtime but the code won't compile on …

Howdy, I need to print given path to a file. The problem is that my app is platform independent -> I can get a Win32 style path:
C:\foo\bar.dat
. The problem is with printing single backslashes '' -> single char converts to "\char" style. I need to convert it somehow to proper style "\\" in order to print it. I was thinking about some lib function (dir.h, sys_*, etc.), but I had no luck. Any help appreciated! :)

Hi Everybody, We have a website developed and hosted in one server. We now wish to switch over to Zen Cart and also want the host server to be changed. It is a Shopping Cart website. By doing this whether our page and keyword rankings would suffer a major blow. In case, I could avoid a major setback, what should I do. Thanks in advance for your valuable advice.

Hi, my client is in the midst of creating a blog. Due to the fact that their hosting is on asp.net, wordpress, joomla is way out of the question. I would like to check if any of you guys might know what is the most recommended .net engine blog software that is SEO Friendly. I know BlogEngine.net is deeply traumatised and targeted by spammers. Any recommendation other than that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Many people complain that Java is far too slow to use in most applications that are traditionally written with C/C++. Well, this is probably never going to change unless Java allows itself to be completely compiled instead of bytecode, but IBM is trying to make the state that Java's in better. Now, IBM has released a Java 6 SDK that has increased performance over Sun's Java SDK. It's amazing what open source can work. Although the idea of it making money seems ridiculous, just look at some of the more-successful applications created with this. Mozilla Firefox for example, has brought …
