I have a home lab I am trying to configure multiple subnets on and use Routing and Remote Access LAN Routing to get everything talking. I have two hosts w/ 5 physical NICS running Hyper-V. I have the NICS configured on each host so they each are in a different subnet. Example Host 1 NIC 1 10.10.10.1 Host 2 NIC 1 10.10.10.2 Host 1 NIC 2 10.10.20.1 Host 2 NIC 2 10.10.20.2. What I want to do is have one computer (my computer) act as a mini server for my friend to connect to directly from his house (different ISP). I am wondering if it is possible using sockets to connect directly without the need to use webpages ? If yes, please direct me to the relevant resources. I have a Verizon FiOS router. I need to be able to forward port 5900 (VNC) to a specific machine, is there any way to do this over SSH? I can't just use Lynx because the router config page uses JavaScript for everything. Is there any way I can forward this port? Is there a way to tell the router to forward it without using the config page? I know it's possible because Skype does it.

Problem is that since the static routing was activated about 2-3 times a day the sever becomes unreachable from the internet. Resetting the router fixes this but is only reactive.
