If you've used both, what advantages does VBB have over SMF? Are they worth the license fee?
Side question: Do you have to pay for mods, or are there some for free?

In my opinion, phpBB is the best forum software. It's easy, full featured, very customizable, and very popular.

We are all unpaid volunteers, which is one reason to have quite a few mods located all around the world for 24/7 coverage.
