I d/l a file from a torrent but it's spilt into 50 pieces! Is there a program which can join them up? The file extension is rar but it plays on vlc so I think it's fake.

That sounds like you need a program like winrar to join those pieces together. Usually there is a file that ends with .part1.rar. If you open that file it should give you access to all 50 files at once (assuming you have all of the files). If you are missing any files it won't work.
