When ever I visit this site, I get a huge increase in the amount of spam mail, from say 10 a week, to 40-60 a day! It is the reason I don't bother with this site much. What can I do?

Are you subscribing to threads for email notification? Go to your Control Panel and under Settings & Options, select Edit Options. Under Messaging & Notification there's a Default Thread Subscription Mode. Make sure it's set to "Do not subscribe" or "No email notification".

I can think of no reason why you would get any spam as a result of visiting DaniWeb. If that happened we would not be the thriving community that we are today...
