All Major Search Engines into Latent Symatic Indexing(LSI) Technique. I feel its a very great improvement in getting natural search results for user queries. Do any one find any disadvantages in it?

I read somewhere that a disadvantage may be to do with polysemous and matrix formulation. Otherwise, if it is the main adaption it should be more advantageous.
