One of the great all time Google SEO Mysteries, can anyone solve this?
Observed several sites that this has happened to over the years.
They were NOT banned, but they suddenly lost all PR and became PR0 (not grayed out).
Some Webmasters claimed that they did not get any warnings in their Google Webmaster accounts about being penalized. So they did not know what caused this or how to rectify it due to a Webmaster guideline violation
Although this has been going on for years, the subject is in the spotlight again because of a blog posting last week on a well known Google SEO blog about old PR penalties finally being lifted after months or even years. The blog owner did not respond to questions to elaborate although it was his department that decides to issue these penalties.
Does anyone have any insight? :?:
