Is it just me, or are cookie consent banners just absurd? I now have to click a button to close a modal on every single website I visit. Also, why does GDPR privacy seem to only care about cookies so much? Cookies have existed since practically the dawn of the Internet. Why does the EU seem to think that the world suddenly needs to agree to them? Anyone has always been capable of going into their browser settings, seeing all cookies that exist, and editing/deleting as they wish.

Feel free to ignore my rant. :)

This is what happens when the technically clueless get involved. Nothing actually changes, but some trough-feeders get to say "Hey, I did a thing, vote for me again".

"Accept" or "Deny" seems to have little to no difference on the actual function of the website in question. But maybe that's because I have ad-blockers and domain blockers on my LAN, so tend not to see all the "please buy our garbage" selling pitches.
