Every time I open a new IE window there's a toolbar of searchweb that comes with it, change my homepage and add a bunch of web sites in my favorites folder and desktop

Hi. :) You can start off by updating Hijackthis to version 1.98.2. You can use the update feature within hijackthis or download it from here:

Also be sure to save it in a permanent folder, not in a temporary one and not on your desktop. Once you have done that scan being sure all browser windows are closed and post a new log. :)
