OK, here is what is going on. I got a nasty spyware. Trojan Horse Zlob. I have Spyhunter, XoftSpySE, Spybot Search and Destroy, and AVG. I also have windows defender and I downloaded smitfraudfix. I ran all of them to get rid of it. I think they all got rid of the zlob but there are some side effects. I cannot access certain websites that have to do with getting rid of the zlob. Especially, enigmasoftware.com, which needs to be accessed in order for Spyhunter to update. So I got into this forum and I see that everyone is posting their HJT log, I downloaded HJT and here it is. Hope you can help me.

Hi, having the same problem.

The virus disabled Windows Defender and whilst AVG V8 removed the virus, and Windows Defender commenced work again.
I now cannot update AVG.
I unistalled AVG and installed Sophos and that will not update either.
I have tried to access both the AVG and Sophos Web sites using IE 7, Firefox and Google Chrome, none of these browsers will access any Anti Virus web sites, but other sites such as Google are accessible, but if you try to access Anti Virus web sites via Google you get re-directed all over the place.
I have re-set the internet permissions to default, no help.
The other computers that share the same internet connection are not affected and it appears that the problem is confined to individual machines.
Can anyone identify where this little problem is hiding.

Many Thanks

Navigate here;
%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\
You can either edit the hosts file with notepad and delete the redirect entries. or delete it as the file is not necessary.

Also open internet properties/internet options go to the advanced tab locate "enable third party browser extentions" and uncheck this box. Click apply. Next go to the programs tab and click on manage addons. Locate any entry with no publisher or number letter entries. (spybot will be one ignore it) Disable any of these entries. Especially ones with number letter names. Then click ok and close out of internet explorer. You should now have access to navigate to those sites.
Be sure to run spybot search and destroy as well as ad-aware SE personal and malware bytes and remove any threat they find. This should resolve your issue.
