For Bass1056: Windows Update not coming up...

Ok, I have followed along with Cdesia, and tried the same things. I cannot get into windows update, WMP does not work (have tried to remove and reinstall 10) and Yahoo mail I cannot compose, change, move or delete mail. Unfortunately though (unless I'm overlooking something), your HJT log doesn't show anything to indicate that malicious programs are the cause. :?:

Remember though- HijackThis is a great tool, but it isn't the final word. Although the sum of the problems you describe makes me think the cause is something other than malicious, I'd get all the latest updates for your Norton anti-virus and do a full system scan before totally reinstalling just to be sure.
