Windows Defender has been reporting this trojan for about an hour now. I use eset's smart security center and it has not found any trojan present in my computer. I cannot start up spybot s&d at all (renaming spybotsd.exe doesnt work). I also cannot use the hijackthis program without renaming the .exe. The log file is below. I have malwarebytes installed but also cannot use it. Avira's Ad-aware has the same problem.

Hello, Justin... please reastart in Safe Mode, rename MBAM.exe and run it in there with these instructions [it is updated?, if not, use SM with Networking and update there]:
Select "Perform QUICK Scan", then click Scan; the application will guide you through the remaining steps.
ENSURE that EVERYTHING found has a CHECKMARK against it, then click Remove Selected.
If malware has been found [and removed] MBAM will automatically produce a log for you... do not click the Save Logfile button.
When it completes examine the log: if some files are listed as Delete on Reboot then restart your machine before continuing.
Post the Notepad log [it is also saved under Logs tab in MBAM].
And perhaps then we shall see what the problem is. Nothing shows in that hijackthis log.

Thanks, i was able to get rid of it using mbam just renamed (not in safe mode). It found 3 infected objects, one of which was bringing up the false warnings about the virus that weren't really from windows defender. After removing with mbam, I ran a deep file scan with eset and then another scan with mbam and the computer was clean. Haven't seen anything in the past 24 hrs (the fake messages were popping up every hr) so I believe it is gone.

If it was just an ad server malware, and you're not getting ads anymore, then consider yourself clean. Post the MBAM log for scrutiny if you wish.
Cheers.
