Can anyone help with this...
Google is being very strange, won't let me log into iGoogle, all links opened redirect me to yahoo.de unless i 'open in new tab', overall just not working very well.

Please do the following:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

* DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Reboot the computer

Please Run the ESET Online Scanner and attach the ScanLog with your post for assistance.

* You will need to use Internet Explorer to to complete this scan.
* You will need to temporarily Disable your current Anti-virus program.

* Be sure the option to Remove found threats is checked and the option to Scan unwanted applications is Checked.
* When you have completed that scan, a scanlog ought to have been created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt. Please post that log for us as directed below.

Reboot the computer

Run a new HJT scan and save the log. Post back here with the MBA-M log, the ESET Scanner log and the new HJT log.


I tried that earlier but MBA-M won't run. At first it gave me an error message, then i tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling etc, now when i click 'Run' it just does nothing, no error message even...


Sorry, I don't remember what the error message was, and it hasn't done it since which is annyoing, just refuses to run.
I'm based in Germany.


Try the ESET scanner. By the way, turn off that Windows Defender, sometimes it can interfere.
You might also try a file and folder search for everything MBA-M and remove anything found and try the download again from the link I gave. See if you can run it without updating first.


Not having much luck here, tried the ESET link and I just get 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'.

Okay, totally got rid of MBA-M and then re-installed, still won't run. If i try to 'Run as administrator' i get an error message saying the program has stopped working.

The ESET website is still dead for me also.

Now IE is randomly closing itself without warning every now and again as well.

Any ideas?


Delete the MBA-M installation file that is on your pc at present.
Go back to download MBA-M again. Click on the link to download it. Select the "Save" option.
When the panel pops up to ask you where you wish to save the file, before choosing where, rename the file. I chose "bambam" in my screenshot just as an example.
Once you have saved it, try again to install it.

Thanks crunchie, just tried that but still no joy I'm afraid. Doesn't do anything if I try to run it, if I 'Run as administrator' it just comes up with a message to say "MBA-M has stopped working" etc.
