Hi, been reverted back here by Caperjack,

A few weeks ago, I recieved your help cleaning my pc of what I thought may have been a virus (it was a fake), thanks for dealing with that for me, however since then, I have had no firewall on, and am unable to switch it on, it says managed by group something or other, and my PC screen is driving me crazy, it constantly jumps very fast and when I attempt to click on something I miss it, it seems to happen most when Im on forums.
Any Ideas as to why this is happening? and how do I get a firewall back. Thanks in advance.

I have done full system scans of which it found a trojan downloader "Zlob" which has been removed.

I have not much idea what is happening with your monitor. Can you remember an incident where it started happening?

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Download the update from here if you have problems.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

Make sure that you restart the computer.

================

Download HijackThis Executable from here. Save it to your desktop.
Start HJT & press the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. When the scan is finished a window will pop up giving you the option of where to save it. Save it to desktop where it is easy to access. Open the log file and then go to the format Tab and make sure that wordwrap is unchecked. Copy the entire contents of the file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

sorry i don't recall when the monitor started going crazy it was a couple of weeks ago. it seems not to be happening as often today, Im more concerned about not having a firewall working, though as I do a lot of internet searches. Thanks for responding.

The monitor problem may not be related at all to the infection you found. The infection MAY NOT be removed.

Follow the scan instructions given to you by Crunchie.

Thanks, Monitor not jumping as much now, but PC very very slow!

Your MBA-M program was NOT updated before the scan, this is the #1 rule when using this program, update before EVERY scan. The new version of MBA-M 1.41 has been out for over a month and the current database is now at 2867. Please update the program and run a new full scan with it. Have it remove all that is found. Reboot the computer and then run a new HiJackThis scan. Post back here with both new logs.

AArrgghhhh I've just spent ages trying to open my AntiMalware programme again, and for some reason I can't open it again, Ive tried clicking the above link to update but the link does not work "File not Found"

It looks like you have AVG antivirus installed and running ok.

I see Norton 360 in add/remove programs so you should uninstall that.

The following folders should be deleted;

Alwil Software
McAfee
Trend Micro

Have you defragmented the hard drive lately?

Hi,

I have removed the folders you suggested, however, I cannot find norton360 in my add/remove or anywhere else, I thought I had deleted that some while ago.

As for defragmenting the hard drive, I defragment C drive regularly, how do I defragment the hard drive? much appreciated.

Strange about Norton as it is showing in the list you gave me.
Hard drive = C drive :).
I cannot say why you are still experiencing slowness still. It does not appear to be malware related from what I have seen.

Thanks crunchie, Ive even done a search of the pc and it does'nt find Norton, strange ha ha.

as you don't know why the pc is still slow, I have no idea whatsoever, so as long as I don't have any viruses, I'll just cope with it, PS any ideas as to why I still can't activate a firewall though? if not, thanks for all your help and just mark as sorted.

What happens when you try to enable the firewall?

It just says "your network administrator is managed by group policy" or words to that effect, strange because my firewall was working ok a few weeks ago.

I found this at another site; Start => Run => Type netsh winsock reset then click ok. Restart your computer then check windows firewall again.
Give it a try and see if it works.

Thanks Crunchie, but no it did'nt work.

I have downloaded a free firewall from pc tools, pc still very slow, but seems a little faster for some reason.
