1. Please give us any specifics that Norton reports, such as the names ands locations of the infected files.

2. Download Ewido Security Suite and install it. Then run, you will receive a warning message saying "Database not found", click "OK" for this. Next in the main screen, click "Update" and click "Start Update". After the update process, run a full system scan. Save the scan report that ewido generates.

3. Reboot and run HijackThis again. Post the new HJT log, as well as the ewido log.

i downloaded ewido and restarted in safe mode via msconfig per another post and ran ewido in safe mode but was never prompted for an update. i think i should have run in for updates before rebooting in safe mode. anyway, the report is posted below. i cleaned the files as prompted. now i think i need to delete some files??? please advise thanks

norton still can't clean or quarantine this file after previous efforts

File: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kbdrv64.sys

these files are also in my startup in the system configuration utility that pops up when i rebooted in selective startup. should i restore my system now? i think these files are the culprits and need to be deleted but i'm concerned about deleting things

my spybot is finding problems with windows security center.updatedisablenotify, antivirusdisablenotify, antivirusoverride, firewalldisablenotify, firewalloverride, sp2uupdate and a minibug. i can delete the windows ones but not the minibug and they all come back after rebooting even with system restore off and ewido run etc. this is really getting ridiculous as i've spent my entire day on this!!! please help

i.e.

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\security center\updatesdisblenotify!=dword:0

should i delete this and the others from the registry????

someone PLEASE help me ... i can't get this off my machine
