Hello everyone,

Okay, so I must've picked up something shady, because this has been a nightmare!

So, I had a slew of lots of random viruses (Downloader, Adaware.Purityscan, Dialer.DailPlatform, Trojan.Zlob, 1stAntiVirus, among others). I managed to get rid of most of it, but i'm experiencing the same kind of symptoms and I still have a virus that I can't seem to shake off.

Symptoms: General slowness in normal use & in boot up, IE popups (even when IE isn't running.. I normally use firefox actually), keeps trying to install "antispyware/antivirus" stuff (which is obviously fake.)

Also, when I try to boot into safe mode, sometimes the taskbar won't load up. You know how you get that generic message when you boot in safe mode saying "this is to troubleshoot problems some things won't be available blah blah blah"? Well sometimes in safe mode it keeps on popping up, as if it's "rebooting" and whatever windows I may have open are closed out.

Any advice would be great, thanks!

I also wanted to add that the "latest problem" is identified by symantec as "Trojan Horse" (unique name huh?) and seems to reside in various subfolders in that that pesky Content.IES folder. The files seem to change names every time i run the scan but at the moment it's srvkxj.exe and srvief.exe (it says quarantine partially.. what does that mean anyway?) Plus variations on the file win2b0 and win2b6.exe which can be quarantined and deleted.

Thanks for your help!

Another update since people seem to be stumped... these are screen shots of what I see when running symantec. As I mentioned before, the file names seem to change constantly... Please help!
