first unzip hijackthis to a folder of its own like c:\HJT\hijackthis.exe


Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

Now reboot into safe mode and delete the following files and folders if found .


C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~2\ADDRES~1\winnet.exe ... delete file

C:\WINNT\System32\kagqts.exe...........delete file

C:\Program Files\WebSavingsfromEbates"...delete folder


Chek add and remove programs for this and unistall if there ,and then fix here also


to delete the above files and folder you will need to do the following

Show hidden files & folders

"Fix Checked"...Reboot to SAFE mode to delete files
How to start computer in safe mode

reboot computer and post a new log

Also a trip to windows updates is needed for critical updates and SP1's
WINDOWS UPDATES

ok i just go my laptop back from gateway and i was in the middle of doing this when it crashed, i was in the process of booting into safe mode. in any event below is my latest log file. Also, i am getting error message:

While you are sleeping caperjack :) .

Please uninstall webhancer from add/remove programs first.

Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked' :

Reboot into safe mode following the instructions here & navigate to & delete the following if found:

C:\Program Files\TV Media< folder
C:\Program Files\DownloadWare< folder

C:\WINNT\System32\kagqts.exe< file

In order to view these files you may have to select 'show hidden files/folders.' Instructions on how to here.

Reboot normally after doing the above then post a fresh log plz.
