Reboot computer and try IE again .also post a new log but get the updated hijackthis in removal tools ,in my signature.

Caperjack, performed HijackThis fix as explained in your message. No change. The new HijackThis fix log is listed below. I think dumping NAV and trying something different might be my only hope. Thoughts???

Caperjack - uninstalled NAV, installed AVG free. Ran scan, detected Back Door Agent 2 H trojan. Successfully repaired. What's interesting is this virus name does not show up in Grisoft's virus encyclopedia (nor Symantec's). However, several files could not be opened and checked (see log below). Is this normal or should I be concerned?? Thanks again for your help.

Hi,As long as they were fix ,i don't see any cause concern

Even though AVG fixed the files, the system restore points had to be cleaned out (AVG auto scan detected the trojan even after fixing during the scan). I turned off system restore (which deletes all restore points), rebooted, re-ran the scan (which turned up clean), then turned system restore back on. Just thought anyone with a similar run in with this trojan might want to know. Does anyone know what the backdoor.agent.2.h trojan does? It doesn't show up in any virus encyclopedias (symantec, avg, panda, etc.)
