hi i am having trouble installing mandrake 10.1 so because it comes up with version file missing so could you tell me why that is please thankyou

this can happen for a few reasons that I can think of:
the ISO that you used to burn your cd is bad and didnt chksum correctly.
Always check your checksums.
The cd is bad or of poor quality
The burner is bad or the burn needs to occur at a slower speed
The cdrom in the test system you are using could be so old (circa 1994/5)
that it doesnt like to read burned cds.. ..ive had it happen while using "spare parts"
to build test machines.
