Hi,

I'm experiencing some trouble with my brave little iBook G4 running OSX 10.4.11 Tiger. After starting it up this morning I found my Documents folder completely empty - except for a folder called Microsoft User Data, which contains two folders called Entourage Temp and Office 2004 Identities, as well as a blank Word doc called Normal. (Apps, Music, Pictures, Movies folders etc. don't seem affected.)

After panicking for a while, I realized that all my files seem to actually be there - it's possible to open them from the "recent" lists of different apps, but not to view them either in Finder or the "open" menus of the apps.

While downloading ClamXav to check my disk I clicked the "show in Finder" icon (which was the only way to view the downloaded file...), and voilĂ ! all my Documents files were shown in the new Finder window! The same happens when I choose one of the folders from the "recent folders" option under the "Go" menu in Finder. However, the Documents folder is still shown as (more or less) empty when I access it as usual from the list in Finder, and also in the "open" menus of apps... Oh, and Terminal went all quiet on me when I tried to list the directory, as suggested elsewhere on this forum...

Very grateful if anyone can help!

Regards,
