I can't figure this out for the life of me... I have a network of computers here (all macs) except for one sole windows XP client. The server is OSX as well. I can connect to the network, and the internet when I assign an IP statically, however the DHCP protocol just will not work. I used Wireshark to examine the packets that go in and out of the XP machine, and I see that it is sending a DHCP discover, and gets back a DHCP offer, but then does nothing at all with it. It will just send another discover out, and get another offer back, until it times out and uses an APIPA address. Anybody have any idea why?

go to command prompt: type->sc qc dhcp

check whether start type is set to auto start, post the result here.
