We're experiencing very slow connections at our other location which is accessed through a dedicated 1.5mg T1 line with a specific open port through our firewalls. When at corporate we have no speed issues connecting to our ERP system which is run off SQL 2003. However, at our other location it takes what seems like 4ever to do a search or open up a screen module. I am not familiar with the configuration as my coworker works directly with a 3rd party who manages our Networks and does not have a hardware detail map. So in other words, I do not have any idea what the system hardware configuration is other that we're on a Sonic wall at both locations. I'm wondering if we have a weak router at the other location. When I approached him about this he said we don't have a router. OK, I might be the software DBA but am I wrong thinking we'd NEED to have a router? My coworker says the router is built into the firewall. Is that possible? By now you've figured out I'm not savy here.. ;o)

But I'm hoping someone might be able to perhaps suggest something I could jump on the network and go peak at. I have full Administrative access to all.

Sorry I'm being so vague, however, I've worked in several other places where alternative location speeds hitting the database were a none issue. I just don't know where to start my investigations.. ;o)

Thanks in advance!
