— Symptoms (launchers freeze at the login/launchpad step while web and chat still work) point to something between the game launcher and the network: a local conflict, a firewall/antivirus block, or a router/NAT issue. The fastest way to narrow it down is methodical testing rather than reinstalling everything.

  1. Restart PC and router/modem, then test one game.
  2. Do a clean boot: run msconfig, hide Microsoft services, disable the rest and disable nonessential startup items, reboot and test. This isolates third‑party conflicts.
  3. Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall only to test (re-enable immediately). If disabling fixes it, add the launcher to allowed apps rather than leaving protection off.
  4. Check for VPN/proxy and turn them off. Try connecting the PC directly to the modem (bypass the router) to see if the router/NAT is the problem.
  5. Verify C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts has no blocked entries for the game servers.
  6. If a router is involved, power-cycle it, enable UPnP or set required port forwarding (use the specific game’s docs for port numbers).
  7. Collect logs: look for launcher log files in the game folder and check Windows Event Viewer under Application for relevant errors. Note exact error text or codes.

If none of the tests help, report OS, router model, antivirus name, exact game/launcher names, and any log lines or error codes. Those details make targeted help possible. Finally, never leave security software disabled except for brief tests.
