How to Remove DSO Exploit Use caution when modifying the registry to fix this DSO Exploit!
Using Spybot Search & Destroy look for the DSO Exploit and then: 1) First, the this DSO Exploit Fix. 2) Disconnect your internet connection 3) Reboot your computer the standard way 4) Run Spy bot 5) Enter the registry by clicking on the start menu, then run, type regedit and choose OK 6) Now locate each one of the registy entries that Spy Bot said it found the DSO exploit in. 7) Rename the 1004 files to 1003 then exit regedit 8) Shut down your computer 9) Reconnect your internet connection 10)Restart your computer 11)Run Spy Bot again to verify the DSO Exploit has been removed 12) Make sure you're not being tracked in other ways by visiting our spyware and firewall tests! 13) Use some type of Patch Management software OR 14) Use Proxomitron to mask your browsers signature!
You should be protected against the DSO Exploit if you're patched. To uninstall these modules from memory, type regsvr32 /u %systemroot%\downlo~1\ followed by the DLL file name, e.g. regsvr32 /u “%systemroot%\downlo~1\HDPlugin1015.dll. Remember to add the quote marks. Delete the files after uninstall by typing del followed by the file name e.g. del hdplugin1015.dll or rename it to another extension e.g. ren bridgex.dll bridgex.bak. Doing so will enable you to know how often the spyware came back.
You may also wish to run regedit (Start, Run, type regedit at prompt) to remove any traces of the above or some other suspicious entries in the following keys. Please be sure you know what you are doing because a wrong deletion may cause your system to become unstable.
My company is currently evaluating/pilotting this software to possibly remove all virus software (definition based 3 day instead of 0 day protection) from our corporate users.
If you read more about the software you will see it has merit to help get rid of these issues with spyware, viruses and other stuff except for java and macro but updates can usually take care of those for you.
Here is the deal the freeze x does not allow anything to install on your computer except from an approved media that you put in the settings. If you want to download something and install it you first have to turn freeze x off. (if you are running freeze x only) if you are running deep freeze you have to have a thawed area or everything that was not on your computer during your last freeze with deep freeze will be gone.
