Not sure this is a good idea unless there is an option to disable/enable the system whenever you feel like it.

I have a similar problem. My router is Linksys WRT54G IP: 192.168.1.1 My static address for my DNS : 192.168.1.11 The ISP static address is 216.160.XX.XXX I cannot ping to the server using the ISP static address. I can ping to the server using my internal static ip address 192.168.1.11 …

My ISP provided the following static block ip addresses: 216.XXX.XX.224-239. 224-Reserved Network 238-Reserved Gateway 239-Reserved Broadcast Subnet mask: /28.
