Having a similar problem.

The videos I made on my Photosmart camera download, burn and play just fine.

The videos my daughter made on a Pentax Optio camera download to Photosmart. The photos I also downloaded burn onto a cd and are fine, but the videos I burn have audio but black screens. I also cannot download them to Photobucket, although mine download fine.

What extra step do I need to make an AVI video from Pentax show when it's replayed from a CD? I can view it on my computer just fine, but not after I've burned it using CDburnerXP.

Running Windows XP.

Remember I'm not technically inclined or profficient, so I need answers in plain English. LOL

Thanks.

Thanks, Bob. I looked at a few forums where they discussed the program. Seems a lot of people are having problems. I think I'll pass up on it for now.

Thanks, Bob.

My PC starts fine but bootvis never seems to reach the end page. Forget what it is called. I probably waited half an hour and it still hadn't finished. I'll try downloading again.

I read about this on the Speed Up Windows thread.

I downloaded from Major Geeks and followed the instructions. These included a long wait after rebooting. It seemed to take a very long time and didn't appear to be going anywhere. I deleted the program.

I'm willing to give it another shot and another download. Any idea how long I should wait after I reboot?

Thanks Caperjack. Think I'll stick with ccleaner and take an occasional look at registry. I find HKEYLOCAL hangs onto program titles (maybe more than just the title) even though they've been deleted via Control Panel.

I've seen so many warnings about registry fix programs that I'm scared to use one.

I use ccleaner every time I sign off the Internet. Do I need a registry fixer? And can anyone guarantee one that works without causing harm? I know there are some advertised by Google but I've heard they only point out the errors and you have to pay to get them deleted. Something there sounds fishy to me.

I've tried Firefox and Chrome. Too many bells and whistles for me. After all, I'm not five years old.

If you have IE installed, you could try Crazy Browser. It's small and fast, but you have to keep IE on your computer for it to run.

Um . . . Certainly no expert but I can only tell you what I found a couple of days ago.

DON'T LISTEN TO ME UNTIL ONE OF THE EXPERTS CONFIRMS IT IS OKAY TO DO THIS.

I had a spy program come in from somwhere that was tracking my activities on the Internet. One of my scan programs said it was in my registry at HKEYloca. I went in via Regedit, found it, and removed it.

The point is -- while I was in there (and I'm nervous about touching registry) I found Firefox and Nero listed. Those programs were booted out of my computer over a year ago but they were still sitting there. They're gone now. I don't know if this will help with your Vista problem.

Thanks Jay and John.

Well, perhaps I'm not totally stupid -- I found this place didn't I? -- but I'm not anywhere near as smart as everyone else on here.

Total idiot when it comes to computers, but I'm willing to learn.

I'm sure I'll be back soon with some really stupid question. Bear with me, please.
