I did find a thread that kinda answered this, but it was from last year, so I thought I'd start a new thread about this:

In Access the data type is memo, what is the 'memo' data type in MS SQL? I might possibly need to have space for 15,000 characters. I saw that Varchar can hold up to 8000, but i need more.

I thought the Text data type would be my answer, but i can't figure out how to set the character limit on it.
