Good day all !

am a newbie in the world of web design.
i recently installed (after download) wampserver
(ver 2.1) and adobe dreamweaver (CS5) on my
windows 8 machine to enable me kickstart with
a very important job.

supprisingly, each time i try to connect
to my DB (either via mysql console or phpmyadmin),
i get the following response:

Error on connect:

42000Access denied for user "@'localhost'to database 'myDBName'"

this is really affecting me since the past 1 month as i've
tried several online help, to no avail. i wouldn't know
wat am doing wrong. any fruitful help will be highly appreciated !

Are you connecting with the correct connection details? Usually "localhost", "root" and password set to "" for a clean system?

I'm not familiar with wampserver (I use XAMPP), but is the mysql server actually running?
